The track machines evenly distribute the weight of the machine and are designed to be lawn friendly. There will be visible track lines for about a day where the machine weight compressed the grass but there is typically not damage to the yard unless adverse conditions exist.

You should make us aware of any private utilities such as utilities to accessory buildings, underground dog fencing, irrigation systems, etc. Also, if you have any time capsules or other valuables buried in close proximity to the stump. It is highly advised that these be moved prior to the stump grinding if at all possible due to the potential for damage.

No, if there are utilities close to the area in which we will be working all you need to do is notify us! We will handle placing the “dig ticket” through Florida’s Sunshine 811 Exactix online system. It does take two to three business days for the ticket to be completed and we are unable to begin work until the ticket is done. Please keep this in mind when you reach out, the sooner we put in the ticket in, the sooner we can start the job!

Do you have an opening of 36 inches? If not can we may be able to remove any fence panels or other obstacles there are as necessary. It all depends on your location and space. Our track machine is very maneuverable and is remote controlled so there are not many places it cannot go.

HOWEVER, if you did have an invasive tree (fruit-bearing trees, honey locusts, ailanthus, sweet gums, mulberries, hybrid poplars, bamboo and other invasive species), the roots can survive and continue to grow. In these cases saplings will continue to sprout and will have to be cut or mowed over until the plant stops producing them.

Cost is dependent on the location, how difficult it is to access, the number of stumps, wood type, and the size of the stumps by the inch in diameter.

After we are done grinding it is standard that we leave the wood chips in place so that you are not left with a hole in your yard where the stump used to be. In order to plant you will need to bring in soil as the wood chips are very high in nitrogen and are not suitable for plants to be planted directly in. A mix of ¾ soil and ¼ wood chips would be best for allowing your green thumb to thrive!

Unless otherwise discussed we will push the wood chips into the hole to decay. You can also import soil and ll the hole so that it’s even with the surrounding ground. We have trusted companies that we work with that we can recommend to assist you with this if this is something that you would not want to do on your own.

Stump grinding only removes the roots closest to the stumps base unless a prior agreement with the customer is made. Our standard practice is to start about 6 inches from the base of the stump and grind 6 to 8 inches below ground level unless otherwise requested. This will leave your yard with root off shoots although, they will typically not be visible. This is the main reason you can’t replant a tree in the exact spot where a previous tree grew.

Yes, grinding a tree stump is an extremely noisy and messy process. It is a loud machine that is slowly grinding down pieces of wood. The wood-chips and mulch that it creates can be projected in all directions.

It depends on the size of the stump and what you have planned for the space. For one stump it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours. Depending on how accessible stump is, it’s size, how recently it was removed, what type of tree it was, and many other additional factors that may interfere with the grinding process.

Remove anything from around the stump that you do not want damaged. Inform us if there is anything potentially dangerous near the stump (rock, pebbles, brick, rebar, tools, etc.) as the machine can turn them into high speed projectiles.

The best course of action is to immediately treat the fresh cut stump with herbicide treatment prior to stump grinding. The best time to do this is within an HOUR of the main trunk removal as the tree is still actively circulating nutrients to the roots. The treatment will spread through the root system for one to two days killing off the remainder of the tree’s root system

You can! Most of the stump grinders available for rent are smaller wheeled machines with lower horse power. Depending on your stump and the weather conditions of the day you may or may not set your self up for a frustrating time. Also, if you have ever rented anything before you know there is no guarantee that it is well maintained or in good working condition.

This makes it a less expensive and also a less invasive option that does less damage to your yard as a whole.

A stump grinder is a piece of heavy equipment with a spinning carbide-tipped circular blade or cutter wheel on the front. They are often operated by single person and can be controlled remotely or by our family has stump grinders of various sizes that allow us to bring the right machine to the right job.

The stump grinder is maneuvered into position, and then it is operator guides the cutter wheel in a sweeping motion through the stump. The grinding teeth have a carbide sharp tip on the end that pulverizes or grinds the wood bers in the stump.This process continues until the stump is fully gone.
